The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is proud to announce the official launch of The Patriotic Institute—a premier political training school—on Tuesday, 28th May 2025 in Accra. The establishment of the Institute marks a bold and visionary step by the party to institutionalize ideological education, strategic leadership training, and capacity building for the future of Ghana's democracy.

In a rapidly evolving political environment where voters are more issue-conscious, digitally connected, and policy-focused, the need for a structured, long-term training platform has become imperative. The Patriotic Institute is NPP's strategic response to this national imperative—aimed at nurturing principled, informed, and effective leaders at all levels of the party.

A Training School with Purpose
The mission of the Patriotic Institute is to produce a generation of leaders who:

• Understand and defend the party's history, values, and constitution,
• Demonstrate ethical and strategic leadership,
• Are skilled in political messaging, campaign strategy, and grassroots mobilization,
• Appreciate governance systems and contribute meaningfully to national policy discourse.

The curriculum includes both mandatory foundational courses—which will be compulsory for all executives, parliamentary candidates, and spokespersons—as well as specialised courses in areas such as campaign research, communication strategy, leadership ethics, and mentorship.

Learning for All Levels
The Institute is designed to be accessible across all levels of the party, from polling station executives to national leadership. Delivery will be through in-person training workshops, online learning portals, and mentorship exchanges—ensuring flexible and inclusive participation.

Strategic Launch – A New Chapter Begins
The launch event on 28th May 2025 will bring together NPP national executives, regional representatives, Members of Parliament, political educators, international partners, and members of the diplomatic corps. The event will feature keynote addresses, unveiling of the Institute's visual identity, live demonstrations of the e-learning portal, and a symbolic enrollment of pioneer trainees.

As Ghana navigates complex governance challenges and generational transitions in politics, The Patriotic Institute stands as a bold investment in human capital development for the party and the nation at large.

NPP China and Belgium Branches Donate to the Patriotic Institute

The Patriotic Institute on Thursday 19th February 2026 received donations from two NPP External Branches. The gesture represents an important advancement in the Institute’s ongoing work to promote political education, research, and capacity development across the party.

The NPP China Branch, led by Dr. Michael Amponsah, and the NPP Belgium Branch, chaired by Mr. Solomon Agyin (King Solomon), made generous contributions toward strengthening the Institute’s nationwide training programmes and strategic development initiatives.

In addition to their financial donation, the NPP China Branch pledged to provide branded learning materials, including pens, note pads, T shirts, and other essential resources. These items will support upcoming workshops and capacity building programmes by improving participant engagement.

The donations were formally received by Alhaji Haruna Mohammed (Deputy General Secretary), who represented the General Secretary.

He commended both branches for their continued dedication to enhancing the party’s intellectual and grassroots development efforts.

Also present was Mr. Kwame Kyeretwie Amponsah (Director, External Affairs), along with the management team of the Patriotic Institute, led by Dr. Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko.

Dr. Tsiboe-Darko expressed deep appreciation to the China and Belgium branches, noting that their contributions will significantly expand the Institute’s ability to deliver quality training modules, digital skills programmes, and leadership development initiatives.

Mr. Stephen Forson, Deputy Director of IT for the NPP and Programmes Coordinator at the Patriotic Institute, reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to providing intensive training for party members at all levels, including those within the external branches. He emphasized the important role external branches play in both national and diaspora based campaigns and highlighted plans to formally include them in the Institute’s annual training calendar.

The Patriotic Institute remains committed to serving as a central hub for research, training, and strategic development within the party. The donations from the China and Belgium branches reflect the continued strengthening of collaboration between the party and its diaspora chapters and mark another meaningful step toward building knowledge, growing capacity, and inspiring effective leadership.
